My dear friend who comments here as “Esther” unexpectedly lost her dog Angus Sunday. The dogpark network lit up fast, as we do when there is trauma of any sort, and we all cried for Angus and Esther. Thora and Sammy got extra hugs tonight. Thinking about the day that Esther must have had yesterday is heart wrenching for all of us doggie-parents.

Bye bye Angus. We will miss you, and know you are in a better place.

Esther, don’t let anyone tell you how quickly you are supposed to get over this. I lost my precious Dexter in May 06 and I am not over it by a long shot. Take it one day at a time.

Angus is beautiful! Oh this is so sad. When we had to say goodbye to Rex a couple of years ago, I couldn’t believe how hard it hit me. Dogs are supreme beings. Much warmth and energy is headed in your direction, Esther!

Cyring at work while typing this….., as I did yesterday when I first heard about Angus. Angus was one of my best friends (be it human or dog), and I miss him deeply. This was a dog that brought joy to my heart everytime I saw him, which was almost everyday around 6:15 AM. Ted and I were always excited to meet him! He had a great spirit that made everyone around him feel good. Ted last night received a very long petting, hugging and kissing sesion as we both took time out to remember our friend Angus. I do not even know the words to say to Esther that would begin to tell her how sorry I am for her loss. I just want her to know that Ted & I are there for you and always will be. I put up a “In Memory” sign on the bulletin board in the Dog Park last evening on my way home from work. Angus was an important part of this community and the community should know. Ted & I love you Esther and Angus…..
Thank you Velvet and everyone else for your kind words. I love Angus so much and this is impossibly hard to have my heart broken into a million pieces. i don’t feel like it will ever hurt any less. Angus was too young to go. He will be my baby forever.

Um, can you please add Bernard & Schroeder as signees to your letter? I sometimes think of a life without these monsters and it makes me sad, sad, sad. Hopefully, dog cloning will have become cheaper before they get too old. Otherwise, I’m going to have to buy a farm and let them breed.

Oh Esther, although I don’t know you, I know just how you’re feeling as I suddenly lost my angel in November. I am tearing up at the thought of the pain that you are going through because it is still very fresh in my mind. Please know that my heart is reaching out to you during this painful time.
